Plot Twist: The story isn't over—it's just getting real ✨

Hey Sweet Friend—

It's been a minute, hasn't it?

The last time we hung out, I was writing about first kisses, country bands, and unexpected love. Now? I'm deep in the plot twist of my own life brought about by the empty-nest season—less "Happily Ever After" and more "Happily Figuring It Out As We Go."🤣 Luckily, still with my sticky-note-writing, hero-inspiration by my side.

You might remember me from Accidentally Married on Purpose or The Fine Art of Pretending—stories about love, courage, and finding yourself in the middle of the mess. (Still my favorite theme, by the way). Thanks to your love and support, those books hit bestseller lists and reached readers around the world.

That season of writing stories was a blessing, and together with the years of homeschooling high school and college launches that followed, I discovered an important truth: the best story we'll ever tell isn't on the page. It's the one we live.

That realization tugged me straight into my next chapter—one built on faith, identity, and the kind of real life you can't wrap in a perfect bow.

Years of writing about brave girls who found themselves in the messy middle led to me rediscovering my own Leading Lady energy when suddenly I had to figure out who I was if not Mom.

And that's how Harmony Bloom™ was born—my story-driven framework that blends identity work, emotional clarity, spiritual grounding, and practical rhythms to help women understand their season and rediscover who they are beneath all the roles they play, the hats they wear, and the expectations they carry.

These days, I'm:

  • Coaching women in every season—from starter-nest to empty nest (shout-out to my fellow midlife warriors!)
  • Getting ready to launch my new podcast, Homegrown Legacy
  • Hosting workshops and courses rooted in story, faith, and real-life transformation.
  • Writing two books-in-progress: Harmony Bloom: Finding Yourself Again in the In-Between Seasons, and Homegrown Beginnings: Your 90-Day Jumpstart to a Joyful Homeschool Preschool

...while also attempting (and failing) to keep the laundry from mutating.

How that pile is still overwhelming, even with one child living her best life at TCU—and about to graduate!—I'll never understand.

If you've ever though, "Who even am I now?" or felt the quiet tug to find joy again after a story-shift or hard season...this next chapter is for you.

As a welcome back, I have a gift for you.

Find Yourself Again: 3 Easy Steps to Feel Like YOU Again- a FREE Mini-Guide to help you reconnect with the woman beneath the roles in 3 easy steps.

Grabbing the guide will also add you to the new email community kicking off in January, the Joy Sparks Journal. It's going to be equal parts inspiration, laughter, and permission slip to be human again.

Whether you stick around for the humor and real talk, the faith and inspiration, the friendship and crown-straightening, or the peeks at writing and behind-the-scenes shimmer, I'm just happy you're here. Thank you for being part of my story...now let's write the next one together.

With Joy (and probably cookie dough),

Rachel

The Rebel Letters

If you've done all the right things—and still feel like you're disappearing inside your own life—you're in the right place. The Rebel Letters is my weekly Friday letter for women who are done ghosting themselves. Not a hustle plan. Not a perfect-Christian performance checklist. More like sitting across the kitchen table from someone who gets it—and telling each other the truth.
